Will the XtraHand work with my vacuum?

The Genuine XtraHand® is a hands-free dust extraction tool for power tools, designed to capture dust at source while drilling, cutting and grinding. It is compatible with most standard 32mm–35mm wet & dry vacuum cleaners and dust extractor hoses using our supplied Professional Flexible Tapered Hose Adapter.

Unlike many dust extraction accessories, the XtraHand's performance depends on both vacuum suction and airflow. That's why we always recommend connecting the largest possible end of the tapered adapter to the XtraHand whenever possible and trimming the adapter to suit the hose, as shown in our adapter video. This allows the maximum volume of air to pass through the tool, improving suction, increasing dust capture at source, and delivering the best possible extraction performance.

Different vacuum manufacturers use different hose sizes, so the supplied tapered adapter can easily be trimmed to suit your vacuum cleaner. For example, if you use a Henry Numatic vacuum, you will need to remove the first small section of the adapter so it fits securely inside the Henry hose. As the Festool Midi range connects using that smaller section, we recommend keeping a separate adapter if you regularly switch between different vacuum brands.

Do I Need Additional Hose Adapters?

If you use more than one vacuum cleaner or dust extractor, we highly recommend having a separate adapter fitted to each machine. This allows you to move the XtraHand quickly between vacuums without constantly changing adapters, while ensuring every connection provides the best possible airflow and extraction performance.

The Professional Flexible Tapered Hose Adapter is also ideal for connecting many other power tools directly to your vacuum cleaner or dust extractor, making it a useful addition to any workshop, garage or toolbox.

Designed for Maximum Dust Extraction

The XtraHand is manufactured in the UK from durable ABS plastic containing approximately 15% recycled material.

Its extra-wide extraction port measures almost 70mm, allowing dust and debris from drill bits, hole saws and cutting tools to be captured efficiently.

The internal extraction area exceeds 2cm², allowing even larger debris from timber, MDF, plywood, composite boards and similar materials to be removed quickly and effectively.

Hands-Free by Design

The base of the Genuine XtraHand uses a soft, flexible TPE sealing skirt, allowing the tool to securely attach itself to many surfaces using the vacuum suction.

Once attached, both hands remain on the power tool where they belong, improving:

Flexible TPE Construction

Many universal hose adapters are manufactured from rigid ABS plastic.

Rigid adapters can be difficult to fit, awkward to trim and often require force to connect to extraction ports.

Our Professional Hose Adapter is manufactured from flexible TPE rubber, allowing it to expand and compress as it fits.

This provides:
